If you have great copy for your ads, you are most likely doing arespectable amount of business on the web. All great copy hascertain things in common.First, and foremost it has no spelling or grammatical errors.Nothing turns a prospect off faster than these types of mistakes. In addition to running all your work through a good spelling andgrammar checker, having someone else carefully read what you havewritten is also a good idea.Use short ads of two or three sentences with meaningful headings. Most people won't read lengthy online ads. In longer ads, suchas on a web site, the use of bulleted lists, which gives anoverview of key points is effective, and will make the copy morereadable. If you are advertising on a web site, there are other conventionsyou should follow. If it is an ad, it should also be short, andfollow the rules above. If however, someone who has read yourad, is coming to your web site for more information, it shouldnot leave the person reading it with questions that are notanswered there.Never, and that is a very long time, use images that take toolong to load.
If you do, the odds are you have just lost acustomer. The text should be easy on the eyes and forget thecute background and text combinations. Dark blue on a blackbackground is simply too difficult to read.A white background with black text is still the best choice, however dark text on a light background is also acceptable.Using an image for a background is a mistake, and will take awayfrom the effectiveness of your presentation. All caps, either in an ezine ad or on a web page, should beavoided. They are very difficult to read and most people won't.Also, forget the fancy fonts. Arial and Times Roman are both verylegible onscreen and if printed give a high quality copy.
Afixed-width font such as Courier is the preferred font for emailads. While many publications use indents to start each paragraph, ablank line separating them is friendlier to the reader. Theiruse quickly lets the reader jump from one to another. It is alsoa good idea to have paragraph headings, which lead in to the nextparagraph. Many people scan these headings, and if they don't gettheir attention, they skip to the next. Obviously then, theparagraph headings are extremely important. You might have great copy, but if the headlines are "blah" theymay just click away.
The use of blank lines and headings betweenthe paragraphs simply makes it easier to read. You should also be aware that there are many different linelengths used in email and in publications. Many times if yourline length is too long, it will not wrap properly and you willhave long and short lines, giving a jerky look, instead of oneswhich are uniform. Your best bet to avoid this is to use a linelength of 60 or 65 characters, as even older email readers canread these lengths properly. Most people read from left to right. It would therefore seemlogical that all the text in your ad is aligned to the left sideof the page. However - we are not talking about a lengthydocument here.
If your lines are short, and consist of only 4 or5 lines, it might make more sense to center them on the page. This is a good idea if you are placing your ad in an ezine ornewsletter. The text in the publication is left justified, andyour use of a centered text ad will make it stand out. While you might write great copy, you still might not makesignificant sales. The primary reason is that people seldom buyfrom a one-time ad. They will have to see your ad at least fiveto seven times before you can expect them to take any kind ofaction at all.If you advertise in multiple places, use the same ad in allplaces. People will soon start to identify with your ad, andjust might take the next step.Have you checked your copy lately? If not, you should.

The ?Keyword Relevance? Myth
You've probably heard the standard advice about keywords.. "Find lots of keywords that are relevant to whatever you're selling, get lots of traffic, and you'll make lots of sales". Sounds sensible, doesn't it?Unfortunately, it's rarely that simple. To make it clear why that is, let's start with an extreme example. For a site selling horses, the phrase "horse pictures" is clearly relevant. In many ways, it looks like an ideal phrase.
It gets quite a lot of searches. There is very little competition in organic listings. You can get very prominent positions for this phrase cheaply on most pay-per-click search engines. But you are very unlikely to ever sell a horse using the phrase "horse pictures."Why doesn't the phrase "horse pictures" generate sales? Because the people who type this phrase into the search engines are either the parents of children who want to look at pictures of horses or the children themselves. In almost every case they have no interest in buying a horse.

But before you head to Canada, use these tips to curb your drug bill.To begin, make a list of every drug you currently take or should be taking. Print copies for each doctor, your pharmacist, your family, and several for yourself. You'll need at least three for comparison-shopping.
Keep another copy in your wallet or purse in case of accidents or other emergencies. Hospitals and doctors who may not know you will be grateful to know what prescriptions you take. Now for the savings tips:1.???Buy a copy of the PDR Pocket Guide to Prescription Drugs (PDR) (Simon & Schuster, 2003), and look up each drug on your list. Search for drugs that should not be taken in combination, foods you should not eat while taking the drug, and drugs that are "off-label" (not approved for use with your condition). For each...
